Chicago Dental Association Members Surveyed

The countdown to the Chicago Dental Association (CDA)’s annual convention is on. In just a few days, 30,000 dental professionals from all over the country will convene in the windy city to discuss new treatment options, the importance of preventative practices and other various topics.

Over 300 members of the CDA were asked a series of questions in a survey. The findings will be shared at the convention. Some of the questions and responses are:

  • Does the Tooth Fairy account for inflation? More than half of dentists surveyed feel $1 is a fair amount for a child's tooth. However, some said that $5 is the going rate.
  • How often do you brush? More than 30 percent brush more than three times a day.
  • Do you floss? More than 60 percent of dentists floss once a day.
  • Who has the best smile in Chicago? ABC-7's Tracy Butler won "best smile" with nearly 35 percent of the votes.
  • Do you use the Internet in your practice 11 percent said they occasionally scan "review" websites such as Yelp.com and Angie's List.
